Best Pizza in NY

Hi all,

It has been a while, I know, but work has been very crazy lately...

But, in order to compensate for my absence, I'm posting about the yummiest pizza in NYC: Lombardi's Pizzeria!!!

Lombardi's was the first pizzeria in America. Gennaro Lombardi started making pizza there in 1905 - more than a century ago!

In my opinion it's really the best pizza in NYC. The Zagat survey even reported their pizza as being "the best on plantet". I always have the traditional one with extra cheese, extra sauce and “free garlic” – my favorite!!!!

Although Lombardi's is always crowded, usually you don’t have to wait for more than 20 minutes or so because the house is really big…

Oh, keep in mind that we’re talking about an Italian style pizza ;) – brick oven of course!!!

They are located on Little Italy: 32 Spring Street (corner of Spring St. and Mott St.).
You can get there by taking the J or M trains to Bowery station or the 6 to the Spring St. station (best option)... See the map from Googlemaps below!

New York, New York...

Which city in the world deserves as many "love songs" as New York does??? Well, if you really know New York you have to say NONE!!! Sinatra, Madonna, KISS, Bob Dylan, Echo & the Bunnymen , Ramones, Caetano Veloso, Elton John, Norah Jones, Sex Pistols, Jay-Z - and I could continue on and on and on... - all have shared their love to this fantastic city. What I though to do in this post was to show off my love for New York by putting together some of these songs creating, somewhat a mixed love letter to this amazing city!!! SPREAD the love... And why not sing it too???

Outlet pertinho de Manhattan com acesso por trasnporte público

Um lugar que eu particularmente amooo é o Jersey Gardens. É um shopping que fica a meia hora de Manhattan mais ou menos e tem lojas outlet.  Na minha opinião as melhores para compras são GAP Outlet, Abercrombie and Fitch Outlet, Victoria´s Secret Outlet, Nike Outlet e claro a Marshalls, uma loja de departamentos meio bagunçada mas que dependendo do dia tem coisas ótimas (da última vez comprei um sobretudo de lã do Michael Kors por 80 dólares!!!)... Tem muuuuuuuuitas outras lojas (o site para quem quiser conferir http://www.jerseygardens.com/).

O acesso é fácil, tem ônibus público que sai do Port Authority Bus Terminal em Manhattan (esquina da rua 42 com a Oitava Avenida) e vai direto para o outlet. No Port Authority é só ir aos guichês de número 1 a 10 (New Jersey Transit) e comprar o ticket para o ônibus que sai de um portão ali mesmo e custa 5 dólares. Já compre ida e volta para não ter problemas... Aí é só sentar, relaxar e pensar nas compras!!! Tem gente que leva mala pra ficar mais fácil de carregar as "poucas"  compras mas aí é com cada um...

As vantagens do Jersey Gardens são o fácil acesso e o fato de ser um shopping fechado (não importa se está chovendo, frio etc. o que pode afetar sua visita como em outros outlets como o Woodbury que eu prometo falar em outro post!!!)....

Ah, levem um documeto brasileiro e quando chegarem, vão até o concierge para pedir um discount booklet... É um livrinho com descontos adicionais (mais ainda!!!) super cool que eles dão para estrangeiros!!!

I Love New York!!!!!!!!

Decidi criar este blog para (tentar) matar um pouco a saudade... Afinal, foram quase 4 anos vivendo nessa cidade MARAVILHOSA. E nesses quatro anos deu para conhecer muito dos cantinhos perfeitos que essa cidade tem para oferecer... Pensei então comigo: por que não matar a saudade e compartilhar todas essas informações ao mesmo tempo???
